Thinking outside of the box is one of my favorite things...though sometimes it can be a bit crazy. As you know we have these cute little wooden toy feed troughs... which it turns out fit perfectly with Lego Mini Figs! We are constantly losing the heads, helmets or weapons in a big box of legos we have...sometimes the whole mini figures seem to disappear themselves. So, we became a little creative and found a way to store and keep them intact. Just goop some glue underneath a lego piece (we find the 2 x 4's work best) and sit it on the bottom of the trough aligned with the front (see photo). Let the glue dry. Once its dry, you can place your mini figs on it for storage and take them off when you are ready to play.
If you have a lot of them, you can actually glue the troughs against each other to make a row or wall "shadow box" that contains the mini figs...a display of sorts. But, if your little ones don't want to lose any lego pieces by gluing them to the bottom, you can just sit the mini figs in the troughs without attaching them to a lego piece.
Either way, its a great way to keep track of them!
The feed troughs are also great for...desktop paper clips, erasers, marbles, rubber bands, ink stamps and even scrabble tiles!
